Overview

VMSC is built local-first: the entire event pipeline — source → rule → action — runs on your machine and never touches a server. That philosophy extends to accounts. You can install VMSC, create a local profile in a few seconds, and start turning TikTok gifts into VRChat avatar reactions without ever typing an email address or a password.

An account only enters the picture if you want more than the free tier offers. Signing in with Patreon, redeeming a license key, or (soon) signing in socially are all optional upgrades layered on top of a product that already works without them.

Core promise: No-account-required is not a launch gimmick — it’s one of VMSC’s permanent design commitments. Local profiles, PIN storage, and rule data all stay on your PC regardless of which tier you’re on.

Local Profiles & Switching Accounts

The first time you launch VMSC with no saved session, you land on the sign-in hub. Choosing Continue with Free Tier takes you to a short profile form:

That’s the whole sign-up flow. The form itself says it plainly: “Local to this PC · no email required.”

Returning to a profile

If your 20-day auto-login window has lapsed, VMSC shows a fast Quick Unlock screen — your avatar and name up front, with a single PIN field. There’s intentionally no “Forgot PIN?” link: local PINs live only on your machine, so there’s nothing a server could reset for you. If you’re locked out, switch accounts or create a new local profile instead.

Multiple profiles on one PC

VMSC supports more than one local profile per install — useful for a shared streaming PC, or for keeping a “test” configuration separate from your real one. From Quick Unlock, choose Switch account to open the “Who’s streaming?” chooser:

Tip: Switching or adding a profile is non-destructive. It never wipes or overwrites another profile’s rules, overlays, or settings — each profile’s data stays fully separate.

Going Premium

Premium unlocks unlimited rules, actions, goals, and overlays, plus premium-only outputs (scripts, OpenShock, VTuber software, TTS, Sound Alerts, Smart Lighting, Voicemod, RCON, MIDI, Voice Commands, and more). There are three independent ways to unlock it — use whichever fits you, and switch between them freely.

Patreon sign-in

From the sign-in hub, Sign in with Patreon opens Patreon OAuth in your browser. If you have an active pledge at a Premium-eligible tier, VMSC unlocks Premium automatically as soon as the sign-in completes. If your pledge doesn’t currently qualify, VMSC doesn’t block you — it shows the Free vs. Premium comparison table so you can see exactly what upgrading would unlock, with the option to stay on Free.

License Key redemption

Have a one-time code instead (gift, promo, or team code)? Enter it in the Have a license key? field on the sign-in hub, in the format VMSC-XXXX-XXXX, and select Apply.

If a key doesn’t work, VMSC surfaces a specific reason — unrecognized code, an inactive key, an exhausted key (no activations left), or a connection problem — rather than a generic failure.

Social Sign-In (Twitch / Google)

Social sign-in is designed to grant a persistent Free-tier identity — it’s a convenience for staying signed in across reinstalls, not a Premium unlock by itself. Premium still comes from Patreon or a license key.

Note: Social Sign-In is visible in the app today, but it’s still rolling out — the buttons are in place and the sign-in flow is built, but the underlying Twitch/Google connections are still being finished on our end. If you try it before it’s fully active, VMSC will let you know it’s not ready yet rather than silently failing. Use Patreon or a license key for Premium in the meantime.

Referral Program

Refer a friend to VMSC and you can both earn free Premium time — no purchase required on either side.

  1. Share your referral code

Find your code on the Settings → Account page (requires Patreon sign-in) and send it to a friend who’s new to VMSC.

  2. Your friend redeems it

They enter your code when setting up VMSC.

  3. They complete the tutorial

The bonus only qualifies once your friend finishes VMSC’s in-app tutorial and dismisses it with “Don’t show this again.” This confirms they actually got VMSC running, not just installed.

  4. You both get bonus Premium days

You (the referrer) get +7 days of Premium; your friend (the referee) gets +3 days. Multiple qualifying referrals extend your bonus on a rolling basis.

The Settings → Account page shows a live Referrals made count alongside a countdown to when your bonus Premium expires. That countdown is anchored to the license server’s own clock (not your PC’s system time), so it can’t be manipulated by changing your local date and time.

Requirement: The referral program is tied to Patreon sign-in. If you’re on a local free profile, sign in with Patreon first to get your referral code and track your bonus days.

Free vs. Premium

The table below reflects VMSC’s actual current tier limits — the same numbers the app itself enforces, not marketing copy. All output types (VRChat OSC, PiShock, Discord, and the rest) and full viewer tracking are included on every tier; the difference is capacity and a handful of premium-only tools.

Tip: Check the sign-in hub or Settings → Account inside the app for your exact current caps — VMSC pulls these live from the license server, so occasional promotions or adjustments show up there first.

Upgrading or downgrading never touches your existing rules — they stay exactly as you built them either way.
